DAMAR it is what connects nature with our deepest being

DAMAR born from the desire to share a passion for the sea and everything it offers us. We see and feel the sea as an essential part of cleansing, healing, a connection with nature and our deepest selves. For us it is a way of thanking, honoring and sharing everything that the sea offers us. We believe in the simple pleasures of life, and in the simple life, and we think that saving the sea and the planet may be easier than we think; just give love

From a passion, fishing, we began to generate prints based on an ancient Japanese technique-gyotaku; which means: gyo-fish and taku- rub. It is a technique used by fishermen who wanted to keep track of their catches, and little by little it became an art. It is made with squid ink, so that you can easily clean the fish and eat it later.

In 2020, as a society, we all experienced difficult situations that forced us to leave our comfort zone, to see beyond what is established. Damar arises from this moment of looking for another alternative, an art that became therapy. DAMAR was our life saver. He gave us motivation, inspiration, and above all love. Sometimes the most challenging situations make us appreciate what we have in front of us, like the sea and everything it has to offer. The sea gave us life, love and peace in those moments of chaos.
We seek to honor all of this through the art of DAMAR.
